East team put best feet forward for landmark leisure scheme
Our East team rose to the challenge of helping to obtain committee approval for a new David Lloyd Club in Bishop’s Cleeve
Following a robust and targeted consultation strategy, 451 expressions of support were generated demonstrating a strong local appetite for the scheme, which was approved by Tewkesbury Borough Council’s Planning Committee in July.
In addition, 23 formal representations of support were submitted, including from Bishops Cleeve Parish Council, and notably, Councillor Richard Stanley, Leader of the Council, who described the scheme as helping the area become a “leisure powerhouse.”
The new facility will bring up to 100 new jobs, many suited to young residents, and provide a much-needed health and wellness hub for the local community. With strong local support and a proactive engagement approach, this project is a fantastic example of how meaningful consultation can help shape and secure positive planning outcomes.
