Case study
Moto M4 Services, Wiltshire
New motorway service station
The challenge
Moto Hospitality proposed a new Motorway Service Station at Junction 16 of the M4. The scheme required substantial political engagement including with the Leader of Wiltshire Council and Cabinet Members, as well as buy-in from local Parish Councils, MPs and the wider community.
Our approach
DevComms undertook substantial engagement with leading and local members, a comprehensive public consultation covering all relevant politicians, local Parish Councils, local MPs and the local community. A targeted media strategy was also deployed to build positive public awareness.
The outcome
Sir Robert Buckland MP publicly supported the scheme. Significant public support was achieved for increasing EV charging spaces and addressing the HGV parking shortfall. The media strategy secured a front-page article in the Swindon Advertiser.
