Green hydrogen production
The challenge
Dorset's first green hydrogen production facility proposed using a former landfill site to generate solar energy and create green hydrogen vehicle fuel. Due to the nature of the proposals technology needed to be explained clearly to politicians, the business community and local residents.
Our approach
DevComms carried out cabinet-level and ward member engagement, worked with Dorset LEP and the business community to achieve strategic buy-in.
An explainer video was also prepared and shared to assist in the promotion of the scheme. Discussions were also held with the Government Department for Energy and Climate Change.
The outcome
The scheme was approved by BCP Council under delegated powers. The explainer video became a key tool in building public understanding.
