The challenge
IM land approached DevComms to support the progress of a live planning application in Pucklechurch, South Gloucestershire. The planning application faced entrenched local opposition and required careful handling up to Planning Committee.
Our approach
DevComms undertook political engagement, including providing comprehensive briefings to local politicians and Committee members. The planning application was presented to South Gloucestershire’s Strategic Sites Delivery Committee and subsequently to the Spatial Planning Committee.
The outcome
Despite political opposition from leading members of the Council, members of the Spatial Planning Committee resolved to grant planning permission in June 2026.
