167-bed co-living development on a brownfield site
The challenge
DevComms was instructed on behalf of McLaren Property to undertake engagement for a 167-bed co-living development on a brownfield site in Exeter city centre.
Our approach
DevComms engaged with Exeter Chamber of Commerce, InExeter, Exeter University, Exeter Hospital, Co-bikes and elected members.
Alongside targeted stakeholder engagement, we managed a comprehensive public consultation including a newsletter mailing and public exhibition. Following initial engagement DevComms continued dialogue with local residents up to determination of the planning application.
The outcome
Engagement with key stakeholder groups resulted in supportive representation on the planning file. Neighbour engagement highlighted key issues and enabled the team to positively respond to key matters ahead of committee.
The planning application was approved by Councillors at committee.
We've worked with DevComms on a range of schemes and are currently working together on our site in Exeter. They're great to work with and have been particularly good at managing influential stakeholder groups to maximise our chances of success.
