Strategic Green Belt release for 695 new homes
The challenge
DevComms were appointed by WH White to assist with the promotion of a strategic green belt release for 695 new homes in Poole. The site was allocated in the Poole Local Plan and DevComms undertook wide scale community engagement in support of an outline planning application.
Our approach
DevComms supported WH White with political stakeholder and community engagement in the face of localised, organised opposition. The engagement included a series of public exhibitions, a project website and the creation of a video briefing ahead of the Planning Committee.
The outcome
The Planning Committee resolved to grant outline planning consent for the proposals. The site was subsequently acquired by Taylor Wimpey and is currently under construction.
