45 family homes on a former bingo hall site
The challenge
DevComms were instructed on behalf of AJC Group to assist with engagement for the Buzz Bingo site on Christchurch Road in Bournemouth for 45 new family homes. The project included demolition of a locally important building and required sensitive engagement with existing residents and local stakeholders.
Our approach
DevComms' South West team led political and community engagement including a widescale mailing, a project website and a series of meetings with key stakeholders. The engagement focused on demonstrating how the scheme would address local housing need and improve the site.
The outcome
Stakeholder engagement ensured that all matters were dealt with proactively and community concerns were effectively managed. The planning application was approved via a delegated decision and the project is now on-site.
