School sports hall and infill extension
The challenge
St Augustine's Priory in Ealing needed a new sports hall and infill extension on a school site surrounded by residential areas to the north, east and west, with Metropolitan Open Land to the south. The proposals had to be sensitively positioned to respond to the varied issues this presented.
Our approach
DevComms delivered a full suite of communications activity: briefing all internal stakeholders including teachers, consulting with the local community, engaging with relevant politicians including leading members, local members and Rupa Huq MP, and coordinating engagement with the school community.
The outcome
84 out of 88 representations on the planning file were in support of the application, which was then approved at committee. The overwhelming weight of support on the file made the committee decision straightforward.
