The challenge
Sainsbury's needed planning permission for a new supermarket and petrol station in Aylesbury, requiring sustained political, stakeholder and community engagement over many years through pre-submission, planning and construction phases.
Our approach
Members of DevComms' team undertook all political, stakeholder and community engagement across multiple phases. We achieved high levels of political and local support including from ward members, Aylesbury Town Council and the local community. During construction, we managed complex communications including maintaining close dialogue with nearby residents.
The outcome
Planning permission was secured with strong political and community support. Members of DevComms' team managed the full lifecycle from pre-application through to construction, maintaining stakeholder relationships throughout.
