The challenge
DevComms was appointed to support Hydrogen Transition Energy with emerging proposals in Manston, Kent.
Due to the nature of the proposals technology needed to be explained clearly to stakeholders.
Our approach
DevComms undertook a programme of public consultation, this included an in person event, online consultation and media engagement.
Given this was a first-of-its-kind scheme we carefully managed messaging to reflect the sensitive nature of the proposals and the significance for the local area.
We also undertook a full programme of public relations support for the scheme, including both local and trade press media.
The outcome
Following an extensive engagement exercise a majority of respondents supported or strongly supported the proposals, and the scheme received positive media coverage.
The scheme is currently going through the planning process.
