The challenge
DevComms worked for two different clients over a decade on a scheme at Junction 8 of the M20 for 500,000 sq ft of employment uses on a sensitive greenfield site within the setting of an AONB. Securing a Local Plan allocation and subsequent planning permissions required sustained, long-term engagement.
Our approach
Comprehensive support was provided with political and strategic engagement, public consultation and community engagement through the Local Plan process, pre-submission periods and up to determination. The approach was maintained consistently across two different client appointments.
The outcome
A Local Plan allocation for 500,000 sq ft was secured on the sensitive greenfield site, along with relevant planning permissions. The scheme is currently being built out with ongoing support for further applications.
