New 11,000 sq ft Sainsbury's Neighbourhood Hub store
The challenge
Sainsbury's proposed a new 11,000 sq ft Neighbourhood Hub store in Desborough. The scheme required political support at every level, from the Council Leader through to Town Council, alongside strong evidence of community demand.
Our approach
DevComms undertook targeted political engagement with the Leader, Deputy Leader, Cabinet Member for Rural Communities and Localism and local members. A widescale community consultation was carried out using both traditional and online mechanisms, with results harnessed through media and political channels.
The outcome
484 consultation responses were generated with over 95% stating they support or tend to support the new store. Strategic, local political and Town Council support was all achieved.
